It splits frequency bands correctly to each speaker — so each speaker does its own “job” and is protected.
A Crossover splits the signal by frequency band and sends the right part to each speaker: lows to the sub, mid–high to the top. Each speaker then runs its optimal range for clean, durable sound.
The crossover can be in the DSP (active) or in the speaker cabinet (passive). Cutting the bands correctly also protects speakers from out-of-band signals that cause damage.
The crossover matches subs and tops to their bands, avoiding overlap. NHK Stage configures the split (usually via DSP) so the speaker system is balanced, clean and safe.
