DSP Processor

What is a DSP Processor?

A digital signal processor: EQ, delay, crossover, feedback control — the “brain” that tunes the whole speaker system.

What is a DSP Processor?

A DSP (Digital Signal Processor) processes the digital signal between mixer and amp: equalisation (EQ), delay for phase alignment, band-splitting (crossover), limiting to protect speakers, and feedback control.

A system correctly “tuned” with a DSP covers evenly, sounds clear, has enough force and is safe for the speakers. This is the step that decides the final quality of the system.

Pros & cons

  • Feedback control, speaker protection (limiter)
  • Phase alignment for even, correct coverage
  • Save presets per space
  • Needs a technician who can tune a system
  • Wrong settings make the sound worse
