Full / Top Speaker

What is a Full / Top Speaker?

A full-range speaker reproducing detailed mid–high for vocals and instruments — the tonal “face” of the whole system.

What is a Full / Top Speaker?

A Full-range (Top) speaker reproduces the mid and high band, where vocals, instruments and tonal detail concentrate. It is the speaker that decides the clarity, definition and “sweetness” of the sound.

It usually pairs with a subwoofer (handling the lows) through a crossover so each speaker runs its optimal band, for a balanced, powerful whole.

Pros & cons

  • Detailed, clear mid–high
  • Renders vocals & instruments well
  • Pairs flexibly with subs
  • A range of power ratings by room
  • Lacks lows without a sub
  • Wrong placement causes feedback/lost detail
  • Needs a correct crossover split

Use in a Bar / Club
