Equipment that makes vapour/fog — both an impressive jet effect and the essential “medium” that makes light rays visible.
This group includes the CO2 jet (a cold white column blasted high into the climax) and the haze/fog machine (a thin suspended mist). Haze is the very medium that makes beam and laser rays visible in the air.
These are controlled via DMX to time the bursts with music and light. Without haze, most of the ray effects of beams/lasers simply “disappear”.
Haze runs continuously at a thin level so beam/laser rays stay visible; the CO2 jet only fires on the big drops for a visual “explosion”. This is an often-forgotten link that decides 50% of the lighting rig’s impact.
