A moving-head fixture with a wide, soft beam — it washes background colour and “dyes” the space, setting the emotional tone of the whole floor.
A Moving Head Wash uses a diffusing lens for a wide, even and soft beam that washes colour over a large area rather than forming a sharp ray. It typically uses RGBW/multi-colour LEDs to mix millions of shades.
Many models have zoom (variable beam width) and separately controllable LED rings (pixel/ring control) for an “eye” effect. DMX control allows smooth colour and movement changes with the music.
The wash is the colour base layer of the whole system: it dyes walls, backdrop and floor per music section to guide emotion. In a lounge that needs a warm mood the wash leads; in a club climax it becomes the backdrop for beams and lasers to stand out.
